Communication that flows

Communication works best when we expect the unexpected. We all know that things sometimes go wrong. We can misunderstand each other or even get irritated.

Perpetual harmony is neither possible nor productive. What counts is what we do when things don’t go according to plan. At Go like Silk , you will learn how to adapt to the dynamics of each individual moment.

Communication is always now

Communication is new and unique every single time. People surprise us. Thoughts and feelings arise that we don’t expect. We want to keep a cool head even when things get tough.

When we’re criticised. When we talk in front of a group. When we’re writing an important e-mail.

Clinging to prepared scripts and expectations only holds us back. Accepting the unpredictability of communication means adapting to the realities of the moment.

Cooperative communication at work

The success of every team depends on the quality of its communication culture. But it is not always easy to engage with colleagues, business partners and clients in a way that is both authentic and professional.

When we Go like Silk , communication isn’t about competition. Even in a professional context, it’s not a question of who wins or who gives in.

What matters most is not the words we use. What matters is trusting ourselves and showing other people that we trust them. Cooperative communication focuses on reaching communication goals by respecting the relational dynamics of the workplace. In a communication climate of mutual trust, everyone wins.

Your personal communication profile

We all have our own individual communication style. It shows who we are. We can develop our communicative potential by exploring answers to the following questions: How can I say what I mean in a way that suits me? How can I make the most of my strengths? How can I be well prepared and stay spontaneous?

Strategies and rules won’t provide the answers. To enhance the communication style that is uniquely yours, don’t try to be like someone else. Trust your own creative resources and you’ll always achieve your communicative goals.

Reaching your audience

Our best ideas are wasted if we cannot share them with others. Specialist knowledge requires communication that is confident and professional. We don’t just need to ‘know our audience’. We want to engage with them and show commitment to our work.

We want to explain our ideas without getting too technical. So let your knowledge and enthusiasm flow with spontaneity and conviction. Instead of hiding behind prepared manuscripts and abstract jargon, trust your audience. Show them what you know. And who you are.

AI and me

There is so much we want to say, but we’re not always sure if we can find the right way to say it. Or if we’ve understood everything properly. AI tools can be a great help. But they can also be a source of worry: Can I rely on this tool? Does AI know better than me? Is it okay if I don't do what the AI says?

Even when we use AI tools, we want to communicate as ourselves and let our own voice be heard. ChatGPT, Claude etc. are valuable resources. They aren’t an absolute authority. It’s still you who knows best what you want to say.
